OpenPing Technology
Team
The team spans network engineering, telecom engineering, data centre and virtualisation, systems administration, platform engineering, information security and AI applications; beyond handling equipment and systems, everyone writes their judgements into documents others can follow.
One Thing That Sets This Team Apart
Beyond handling equipment and systems, engineers are responsible for one further thing: writing their judgements into documents that others — including AI — can understand and follow without going wrong.
That requirement changes the shape of the team's capability. Operations teams have traditionally relied on individuals who are experienced, quick to react and good at firefighting; OpenPing relies on the ability to turn experience into rules, rules into process, and process into check items. Firefighting still matters, but after every fire one question must be answered: what must be added so that next time there is no fire to fight.
The team also owns the design and governance of the AI operating framework. Which work can be handed to AI, which must be decided by a person, at which layer the boundary sits, at which step the gate belongs, and when it must stop and ask — these are design questions under continual adjustment, not rules settled once.
Team Culture
Follow the documents, not your memory
Including scepticism about your own memory.
Verification over supposition
Where something is uncertain, leave it blank rather than invent an answer that merely looks reasonable.
Keep the reasons
Including the options that were rejected and why.
These principles apply equally to people and to AI — the framework can make demands of AI only because the people meet them first.
