What the Company Name Means
In the Chinese name, wei denotes operations; the Ping in the English brand is the most elementary act in networking — send one packet, confirm the other end is still there.
The nature of operations has never changed: first know the present state, then decide what to do, and afterwards leave a record you can go back and check. OpenPing has taken that and redesigned it from manual work into a standard framework in which AI and engineers work together.
Six Domains, One Set of Rules
The business spans six domains — network, telecom, data centre, hosting, platform and systems — each carried by its own business unit. In conventional organisations these six sit in different departments, use different tools and each define "done" differently.
What sets OpenPing apart: the six business units share one set of operating rules, one production-and-acceptance process, and one reporting and traceability mechanism. Cross-domain problems therefore do not fall into the gaps between departments.
Technology Choices: Pragmatic, Not Novel
Virtualisation runs on both VMware vSphere and Proxmox VE, divided by workload characteristics; container orchestration uses Kubernetes; network equipment spans MikroTik routers, Dell EMC and D-Link switches and OPNsense firewalls; storage uses Ceph distributed storage, TrueNAS, QNAP and Synology according to purpose; servers are primarily Dell PowerEdge, with NVIDIA GPUs on nodes that require model inference.
These are all long-proven choices within the industry. OpenPing's value lies not in what equipment it uses, but in bringing all of it into one operating framework that AI can execute and people can review.

For customers
Operational quality can be inspected. Every change has a prior plan, an independent review, subsequent acceptance and a complete record; every standard has a traceable source; every judgement has a written reason. Operations is no longer "handed to some very capable engineer", but a capability the organisation can keep running, keep improving and keep handing over.
